A reference work is only as good as its sources. These are the rules every NigeriaStuff article follows — no exceptions.
Every fact is cited
Every paragraph containing factual claims ends with source markers, and every article lists its full sources with publisher and link. We prioritise primary and official sources (government archives, NBS, CBN, NGX), then academic scholarship, established reference works, and reputable journalism, in that order. Wikipedia is never cited — where it points to a source, we verify and cite the source itself.
Contested facts stay contested
Where the record genuinely disagrees — casualty figures, population estimates, disputed chronologies — we present the range with each estimate attributed to the body that produced it, rather than silently picking a side. Nigeria has had no accepted ethnic census since 1963; our population figures say so.
Live data is credited
Every live module on the homepage names its data provider and shows when the data was last updated. Exchange rates are labelled for what they are — an indicative market rate is never presented as the official CBN rate.
Honesty about gaps
Where authoritative data doesn't exist — ward-level statistics, unverifiable historical claims — we say so explicitly rather than estimating. Accuracy over false completeness.
